Reform, how I miss thee...

President Obama:

What you just did to healthcare reform (or is it "health insurance reform?" why Presidents generally don't try to go big in their first year. If you were planning to fold on the public option the whole time why weaken the rest of your term by showing your cards so early? Do six conservative Blue Dogs really have the power to stop real change, change that you promised? Or were you really in the pockets of the insurance lobby the whole time. OR is this some grand scheme to make us fight harder, to get us to make you do it? Does it really take an angry mob on the lawn to get anything done to that is decent for our fellow humans? Well that's what you're about to get. I hope it's what you wanted.

Respectfully yours,
Nate Bear

John K Stuff: Betty Boop Story Ideas

John K Stuff: Betty Boop Story Ideas

If this ever gets made I want Bimbo to have secret upside-down duck fetish. Like he fantasizes about Betty being one even while on the outside he absorbs her with an accepting, be-yourself-affirming embrace.

Thrillerfied

Am I the only one that secretly hopes that Michael Jackson will come back fro the grave with about 1000 other zombies and perform Thriller at the staples center?

Also, everyone should check out my Deviant Art profile. I recently revived it and started posting and being active almost daily. Also some pieces will prob only end up there and not on my blogs.

New Idea

Every ten years instead of just redrawing congressional districts, why don't we redraw all the national borders. But without any geographical limitations. So part of of Poland can be in lower NJ, and Timbuktu can be partly near the north pole. Really mix it up. I bet a lot more Americans would have passports, just so they could go to the nearest 7-11. "Don't go to Wawa, your sales tax will go to Pakistan!" I think after a few decades of that there's be bigger sense of international community and globalism. And people wouldn't have to move, (unless they want to stay part of whatever country they started in); I think just having to live within the "borders" of another country would be enough to cross pollenate culture. Haha. Imagine German TV airing all over the Bible Belt, or getting nothing but Iranian news in Washington DC!

Totally half-bake* but i like the general idea so far...

All i can say to this is, "AWWWWWWW! So precious!"

Sue Harris was not quite sure how to react to the historic victory of Barack Obama. At an election night party held by the local Republican party in the Texas town of Beaumont, she was briefly lost for words.

"I do not know how I feel," she said. Then she found her voice. "My reaction is: what is America thinking? How could he get hold of the country? I am afraid our way of life is about to change drastically," she said.

And to this, "HA!":

Good.

ARTIST IN RESIDENCE
by Jerry Saltz

Ikea’s homepage recently proposed: "Feel free to take advantage of us." At Postmasters Gallery, the wily Guy Ben-Ner has happily obliged. Last year, without permission, this Israel-born artist, who lives in New York and Berlin -- he ably represented Israel in the 2005 Venice Biennale -- installed himself, his wife and their two cutie-pie kids in Ikea model rooms all over the world. Setting a camcorder on "auto," Ben-Ner filmed his family in a semi-scripted soap opera. Most scenes last until Ikea staff throws everyone out. The result is the bitingly crackpot, politically poignant 18-minute Stealing Beauty.

From the the google books version of

Sunfood Living: Resource Guide for Global Health

By John McCabe.

So far reads less like a book on nutrition and more like an inspiring call to action. <3
